| A sketch study model
of my design for a bioclimatic house now under construction in Tenerife,
is an example of 'form follows local conditions'. It is shaped, partly, by the need to deflect the directionally constant, strong, sand-laden wind from the patio, which is the heart of the Mediterranean life style prevalent on the island. The optimum slope and orientation of roofs for solar energy collection,thermal and photovoltaic, was the other main determinant. |
